I have a problem myself. I can't remember number very good. This makes me a big hindrances for me to memorize verse number of bible verses and then recall them. Recently, God has given me an idea and it greatly helps me solving this problem. I want to share it so that you may be benefited.

Just look at your mobile phone, numbers are represented by many letters. I just start using this as the clue.

I now use :

1 as represented by s, (because 1 has no representative letter in the phone)

2 by a, b or c

3 by d, e, f (remember DEAF)

4 by g, h, i (remember GHOST)

5 by j, k, l (remember Jack, King, ...)

6 by m, n, o (remember mono)

7 by p, q, r ( remember p and q seems like a door)

8 by tuv (remember TV)

9 by wxyz

0 by o .

I have a family member of seven. So, I attach some mental pictures about them and the number.

So, I give you some examples to memorize my favorite Bible verses:

Haba 3:17 (NIV) Though the fig tree does not bud

and there are no grapes on the vines,

though the olive crop fails

and the fields produce no food,

though there are no sheep in the pen

and no cattle in the stalls, .....

( So, I just memorise E-SP , meaning "especially " for God) E-SP stands for 3:17

Isai 9:6 (NIV) For to us a child is born,

to us a son is given,

and the government will be on his shoulders.

And he will be called

Wonderful Counselor, {[6] Or Wonderful, Counselor}Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

(So, I remember W-M , meaning woman) W-M stand for 9:6

Isai 2:2 (NIV) In the last days

the mountain of the LORD's temple will be established

as chief among the mountains;

it will be raised above the hills,

and all nations will stream to it.

(so, I remember by A-A, it stands for ^^, seemings like 2 mountains , right?) A-A stand for 2:2

Matt 15:18 (NIV) But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man `unclean.' .......

(so, I remember SL-SX, standing for slow sex-----sins, right ). SL-SX stands for 15:18

Get it? In this way, I can enjoy more about memorizing the Bible verses. I can also use this kind of method to help others in reading the verses when counseling others. Of course , there should be some memorizing work in remember the number and the corresponding letters. But I'm sure it is not difficult. I just remember them by several minutes. If I use them constantly, I 'm sure we can relate the letters and the numbers like we treat numbers now.
